Intercom is a complete platform — and priced like one. A 10-person team with moderate AI land around $3,100/month once you stack seats, outcomes and add-on modules. Onsites gives that same team the inbox, CRM and documents for ≈$255/month, because three seats are free and AI is flat-rate.

Front excels at shared inbox collaboration. Onsites adds the parts Front treats as add-ons — CRM, quotes, orders, invoices and contracts — in the same record, with a self-hosted track that Front doesn’t offer. If Front-led inbound sales is purely your flow, Front is great; if you also need documents and invoicing near the inbox, Onsites closes the loop in one price.

Help Scout is simple and loved for its clean UI — but it’s a pure help desk. Customers, opportunities, quotes and invoices live in other tools. Onsites is as simple to start yet covers the customer journey; and where Help Scout charges per user from day one, Onsites’s first three seats are free.
| First 3 seats | Free | Paid |
| CRM + documents | Built-in | Integrations |
| AI credit price | ≈ $0.03–0.24 | Per resolution / usage |
Crisp markets aggressively on its free plan — which strips features as you grow. Onsites keeps every feature free: your first three seats get the whole product, and the only paid meters are the fourth seat, extra storage and AI credits — all with published prices.
| Free tier is full software | Yes, forever | Restricted |
| CRM + documents | Built-in | Partial / none |
| Self-hosted option | Yes | No |
Chatwoot is an excellent open-source inbox — and we genuinely respect it. It self-hosts because its maintainers run a community edition. Onsites chose a different route: the cloud is free for your first three seats (no servers to run), self-hosting is $15 per seat per month, billed annually (10 seats minimum), with installation, updates and support included, and AI is included with a published, credits-never-expire price rather than bring-your-own-key alone.
| Cloud free for 3 seats | Yes | No (self-host to start) |
| AI in the product | Copilot + Harness, flat credits | BYO keys / chat |
| CRM + sales documents | Built-in | No |
